Dr. Lang is very passionate about the opportunity for us to collaborate with the schools in China so that we can learn from each other. He mentioned several times that this is the beginning of a wonderful collaborative partnership "where ducks and chickens can better understand each other and how we can influence the way we learn and grow together."
There were so many great connections made while Dr.Lang was here, however, the biggest thing I took away from our meeting was how incredibly fortunate we are to have these devices which allow us to communicate and learn from people literally around the world. The iPad is not just a learning tool, it's a tool that is going to equip and prepare the students in our schools with the skills necessary to think, communicate, investigate, and problem-solve with friends that have similar goals across the world. It's a tool that helps us be better people and create a better world for tomorrow.
I'm left with three big ideas that I hope to investigate and take action with:
1. How can we collaborate with the schools in Beijing to include them on our green project?
2. What web resources do both China and Americans have that will allow us to communicate more freely so that we can learn and grow together?
3. How can we utilize the other amazing resources and knowledge they possess to make our community a better place to lean and grow?
I'm honored for our experience today and am really looking forward to taking the next step with our friends in China!!
